Official Mora County minutes document San Miguel County Detention Center as the primary contract facility for adult detainees from Mora. That arrangement makes San Miguel’s booking and release records central once the facility match is confirmed. It does not mean every person arrested in Mora is always sent there. Capacity, backup arrangements, another authority, or the facts of the case may lead elsewhere.
A San Miguel record can show community release on bond or conditions, completion of a custody term, or a transfer. The release date closes the San Miguel booking. The destination or receiving-authority field determines whether another agency took custody. A move to NMCD, another county jail, USMS, BOP, or ICE is continued custody, even though the San Miguel record may use release language for the handoff.

San Miguel County Release Lookup Transition
The official detention-center page says Detainee Lookup services are temporarily out of service during a transition to a new jail-management service. It directs inquiries to the detention center by phone. This warning controls how the public archive should be used. A reachable legacy screen is not proof that its records are current, complete, or the facility’s active production system.
The officially linked legacy lookup was reachable during research on July 29, 2026. It supports Last Name, First Name, and Booking # inputs and includes an Include Archive Records in Search control. Its Recent tool describes recent bookings, not releases. San Miguel County does not publish a separate 24-hour or 72-hour release feed, a disclosed update cadence, or a disclosed archive retention period.
Do not convert the archive’s Recent label into a same-day release list. A recent booking may remain in custody. Conversely, an older archived result may show a release timestamp. Search the named person and inspect the status fields rather than assuming the time window answers the release question.
Search San Miguel County Release Archives
The archive is useful for Mora detainees only after a Sheriff, court, or facility record identifies San Miguel as the booking jail. Search with the most specific reliable information available. Avoid publishing a date of birth or other sensitive identifier simply because the result screen displays it.

San Miguel County Contract Release Role
The contract arrangement is the distinctive local feature. The New Mexico Counties detention report says Mora lacked an adult prison or detention facility. Mora Commission minutes from December 16, 2021 approved the confinement contract with San Miguel and recorded 15 people then confined under the arrangement.
The contract does not make San Miguel the custodian of every Mora arrest. A later Mora Commission record identifies Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility as backup when the primary location is full or unavailable. Continuing outside detention costs also appear in later minutes. Confirm the facility for the particular person before relying on the San Miguel archive.
Once San Miguel is confirmed, its record owns the processed release timestamp even though the criminal case remains a Mora matter. The Sheriff can identify the transport and receiving jail. The Mora court supplies the legal order and case outcome. San Miguel supplies the detention event. Those records should be read together, not collapsed into one source.

San Miguel County Release and Mora Court
A Mora case can remain in the Fourth Judicial District or Mora Magistrate Court while the person is detained in Las Vegas. Search New Mexico Case Lookup by name and case details, then obtain the filed release or bond order, judgment and sentence, probation order, or dismissal from the clerk where the case was filed. A docket entry helps locate the event but is not the signed order.
The court order and San Miguel timestamp answer different questions. The judge’s order provides legal authority. The detention-center record provides the administrative departure time. If the release type is unfamiliar or the record shows another authority, call the facility and request the destination field before describing the event.
No official source states a standard San Miguel release hour, exit door, family waiting point, weekend or holiday procedure, property-return sequence, gate payment, or taxi rule. Call the facility before arranging pickup. NCRTD Route 810 is fare-free and serves the Las Vegas to Mora corridor only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with information at (505) 629-4725 or (866) 206-0754. It does not list the detention center as a stop. Meadow City Express charges $1 per boarding with exact payment and requires demand-response scheduling at least one day ahead at (505) 454-8583. Coverage near the facility must be confirmed.
A travel option never proves a release. Verify the event and exact location first, then ask the carrier about current service. A person transferred from San Miguel may be at NMCD, another county jail, USMS, BOP, or ICE instead of waiting for local transportation.
